Nature of Work

A Counselor is a compassionate and patient entry-level, direct-care, human services professional who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You will be responsible for providing instruction and support to children and youth diagnosed with serious emotional disturbance, using strengths-based and trauma-informed practices, with the goal of improving functioning and overall quality of life. As a Counselor you will be an integral member of the team, providing daily documentation and feedback regarding youth progress and needs. Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a human services related field is strongly preferred; a high school diploma with related experience may be considered.
  • Requires a valid drivers’ license that meets insurability guidelines to operate Agency-owned vehicles.
  • Must meet the requirements of the School Age Care, Day Care, and/or Mental Health Regulations regarding a State Central Register Clearance regarding a history of abuse/maltreatment of children and Criminal History Review for criminal convictions.
