What you’ll do
- In this role, you will help shape the foundation of a child’s early learning journey by:
- Creating and implementing engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans
- Supporting children’s social, emotional, and academic development through daily routines
- Maintaining a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment
- Observing and documenting developmental progress and milestones
- Guiding positive behavior and supporting classroom transitions
- Communicating effectively with families about student growth and needs
- Collaborating with co-teachers and school leadership to ensure consistency in care and instruction
- Maintaining accurate records including attendance, reports, and incident documentation
- Ensuring compliance with MSDE and OCC licensing requirements
- Participating in staff meetings and ongoing training sessions

Required Qualifications
- At least 19 years old
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion or willingness to complete
- MSDE-required training:
- 90-hour Preschool Certification
- 45-hour Child Growth & Development
- 45-hour Preschool Curriculum
- 9-hour Communication Course
- Basic Health & Safety Training
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
- Maryland State background check and fingerprint clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Montessori certification (AMI, AMS, or MACTE)
- 2+ years experience in a licensed early childhood setting
