Job Description
Summary The University of Pennsylvania Libraries seeks an energetic AI Literacy intern to participate as members of our academic engagement and departmental libraries teams and receive mentoring by a progressive and seasoned team of professional librarians. The AI Intern will collaborate with librarians to help develop AI literacy Resources and use GenAI to develop processes and workflows to support librarians' work, including creating a Canvas tutorial and presenting a workshop on AI applications. They will also contribute to AI working groups and support evaluation of AI-enabled library platform.
Job Description
Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Work with librarians to develop an online AI literacy tutorial on Canvas Interview librarians about workflows and develop GenAI use cases, projects, and tools to support subject librarians' work Present a workshop to librarians about what you develop and how to use the tools Join AI Literacy Working Group meetings as schedule allows Provide support for developing guidelines for the assessment and adoption of AI tools as part of the databases and other platforms that the library subscribes and offers access to the campus community Get trained on and participate in chat reference to better understand the types of questions coming to the library Qualifications: Current graduate student. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Desire to learn, adapt quickly, and work independently. Desire to support a diverse academic community. Flexibility regarding work location.
