Special Education Teacher Framingham Academy
Implement curricula according to MA State Curriculum Frameworks and Common Core Standards in a Chapter 766 approved school for students in grades 6-12. Responsible for providing challenging, motivating and relevant learning experiences in a 220 day setting. Teach classes by using various methods and materials to suit topic, IEP and/or learning style. Employ differentiated instructional strategies to meet the needs of all students, including integrating technology into lesson planning. Provide a learning environment which is physically safe and intellectually open and in keeping with special education best practices. Model the school’s academic and social expectations. Attend department meetings and relevant school and professional events/meetings as necessary. Maintain first aid, CPR and TCI certification through provided trainings. Responsible for keeping in compliance with program and agency policies, standards and protocols. Deliver structured lessons and activities for assigned class period for each group/student in accordance with their current IEP. Provide individualized intervention and accommodation when necessary. Participate in assessment practices in regards to Academy's IAP program. Assist in and/or develop IEPs as appropriate. Participate in teacher and staff meeting. Establish and maintain open communication with parents and guardians. Complete all associated documentation regarding student progress and grading. Maintain current license in moderate disabilities and curriculum area.

Minimum
Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in education preferred. At least 6+ months classroom experience (aide/co-teacher/etc.) preferred.
