  • Summary: The School of Dental Medicine (SDM) welcomes applications for full-time Dental Hygienists to provide comprehensive patient care across all areas of specialized dentistry. This role requires extensive, progressively responsible experience in delivering preventive and therapeutic dental hygiene services, including conducting patient assessments, performing dental cleanings (prophylaxis and scaling and root planing), taking and interpreting radiographs, and educating patients on oral health practices. Responsibilities also include preparing and positioning patients, maintaining and organizing clinical areas, adhering to strict infection control and sterilization protocols, and collaborating with dental teams in specialties such as oral and maxillofacial surgery, periodontics, endodontics, and restorative dentistry to support effective patient care.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Current, valid licensure as a dental hygienist from the from the Colorado Dental Board Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), medical terminology a plus Recent experience working in a fast-paced dental environment Experience working with students and faculty in a higher education and/or academic medical environment
