  • Consults with: Director and Assistant Director of the JAC, JAC teachers, FCDS administrative team, FCDS classroom teachers, school counselors, students, and parents.

Responsibilities

Teach executive functioning skills including time management, planning, organization, study skills, note-taking skills, etc Use student’s school work to strengthen classroom skills, including reading comprehension, writing skills, and test-taking skills Create systems that are unique to each student including the structure of sessions to meet the needs of the individual student Build relationships with students to advocate for student needs Focus the on the well-being of the student by creating an atmosphere of support Contact individual teachers regularly, especially when grades drop below a 75 Maintain weekly documentation to check progress and maintain weekly communication with parents and teachers with regard to student progress through email using the given template or On-Campus Official Note Equip students to advocate for themselves Assist students who are having difficulty preparing and turning in assignments Meet regularly with other Academic Center personnel to discuss issues of mutual concern, to share ideas, collaborate on student difficulties/successes, determine instructional needs Attend divisional and JAC faculty meetings and general meetings Assist the Director of the JAC with any duties assigned Serve as an ambassador for FCDS QualificationsQualifications: Requires Bachelor’s degree Experience in education and/or a one-on-one setting is strongly preferred Essential functions:: Regularly required to walk, talk, hear, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds Must be able to operate a computer and have basic knowledge of Google Workspace Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the school and other facilities as needed Must be able to utilize oral and written communication skills effectively
