Responsibilities

Oversight and care of students for snack time, outside play time, and planned activities Maintain a safe environment at all times. Follow and enforce all safety policies. Provide a warm and caring atmosphere for all students. Maintain professional and positive relationships with parents, students, and staff, and a positive attitude toward co‐workers, parents, students, and the school. Take children to the playground, gym, and other areas, and supervise them, staying vigilant at all times, and move around to ensure safety of all students. Know where all children are at all times, and ensure that you have all of them when you move from place to place. Handle behavioral issues as they arise. Handle student injuries and upsets. Assist children in the bathroom as needed. Help to maintain appropriate sanitation levels. Escort and check out students to appropriate parent or guardian. Engage and communicate with students in a manner that is developmentally appropriate for their age. Report any problems that arise with students, other employees, or the school to the Lower School Director. Communicate with parents about their student’s day and any issues that may have occurred. Attend all staff meetings and training sessions. QualificationsQualifications: A minimum of one year’s experience in childcare is required; two years’ experience in a school or daycare setting is preferred Early childhood credential preferred Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and patience Exceptional listening skills, compassion, and the ability to remain calm at all times Creativity and a willingness to sing, dance, and be silly and fun-loving with children Must be able to follow directions and perform work activities as assigned. A clean background check is required. CPR and first aid training are required. The school will provide, if necessary.
