What You'll Need to Succeed Massachusetts EEC Infant/Toddler Teacher Certification required High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred Minimum of one year of experience working in an infant classroom within a childcare center, daycare, preschool, or private school setting Knowledge of safe infant care practices, including feeding, sleeping, diapering, sanitation, and supporting sensory and motor development Genuine passion for infant care and early childhood development, with a nurturing and patient approach to caregiving Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset Flexibility to work a full-time 8-hour shift within the center's operating hours, including opening and closing schedules as needed Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day, including spending extended periods seated on the floor Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of a childcare classroom Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the classroom for the majority of the workday

What You'll Do As an Infant Teacher, you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Partner with your co-teacher to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum, lesson plans, classroom activities, and monthly family communications Build strong relationships with families through daily communication, classroom updates, and the ClassDojo platform Create a welcoming, safe, and engaging classroom environment that supports infant development and early learning Encourage exploration, discovery, and participation through age-appropriate sensory, social, and motor skill activities Follow individualized feeding, sleeping, and care schedules to meet each infant's unique needs Observe, document, and assess children's developmental progress in accordance with program expectations Support children's daily routines, including feeding, bottle preparation, diapering, toileting, naptime, outdoor play, and transitions throughout the day Maintain active supervision and ensure children's safety at all times while adhering to Massachusetts EEC regulations and center policies Keep the classroom clean, organized, and fully prepared for each day through routine sanitization, toy cleaning, classroom maintenance, and opening/closing responsibilities Collaborate with fellow teachers and center leadership to support a positive, team-focused childcare environment Maintain required EEC professional development hours and an active PQ Registry profile Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required Foster a classroom culture built on kindness, patience, curiosity, and a love of learning
