What You'll Need to Succeed Massachusetts EEC Infant/Toddler Teacher Certification required High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred Minimum of one year of experience working with toddlers in a childcare center, daycare, preschool, or private school setting Knowledge of toddler development and developmentally appropriate practices, including language development, social-emotional learning, positive behavior guidance, diapering/toileting, and health and safety procedures Genuine passion for early childhood education and supporting toddlers as they build independence, confidence, and foundational learning skills Ability to create a nurturing, engaging, and structured classroom environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and active learning Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and fellow educators Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset Flexibility to work a full-time 8-hour shift within the center's operating hours, including opening and closing schedules as needed Ability to actively engage with children throughout the day, including sitting on the floor, participating in play-based activities, and supporting daily routines Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical demands of a childcare classroom Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the classroom for the majority of the workday

What You'll Do As a Toddler Teacher, you'll create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment where children can explore, build confidence, develop independence, and reach important developmental milestones through hands-on learning and positive relationships. Lead a toddler classroom in a licensed childcare and preschool setting, creating a warm, welcoming, and developmentally appropriate learning environment Plan and implement engaging lesson plans, learning centers, sensory experiences, and classroom activities that support toddler development and early learning Foster children's social-emotional growth, language development, problem-solving skills, and emerging independence through play-based learning and positive interactions Support daily classroom routines including meals, diapering, toileting, rest time, outdoor play, transitions, and active supervision Encourage curiosity, exploration, creativity, and participation through age-appropriate activities and learning experiences Use positive behavior guidance strategies to support emotional regulation, conflict resolution, and age-appropriate classroom expectations Observe, document, and communicate children's developmental progress, milestones, and classroom experiences Build strong partnerships with families through daily communication, classroom updates, and collaborative support of each child's growth and development Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and engaging classroom environment that reflects high-quality early childhood education practices Ensure compliance with all Massachusetts EEC regulations, health and safety standards, teacher-to-child ratios, and center policies Collaborate with co-teachers, support staff, and center leadership to create a positive, professional, and team-oriented culture Participate in staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and ongoing classroom quality improvement initiatives In This Role, You Will Help Children Build confidence, independence, and self-help skills Develop language, communication, and social skills Learn through play, exploration, movement, and hands-on experiences Form positive relationships with peers and trusted adults Strengthen the foundational skills needed for future success in preschool and beyond
