  • ​ ​ New York, NY The Browning School is a K-12 boys school located on East 62nd Street (Lower and Middle Schools) and East 64th Street (Upper School) in midtown Manhattan, New York.

  • POSITION DESCRIPTION Browning is searching for a Soccer Coach.
  • The position will begin on August 30th.
  • The expected stipend for this position is $4000-$6000.
  • The Browning School Varsity Soccer Coach is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the school’s boys’ soccer program.
  • This role focuses on teaching fundamental soccer skills, promoting sportsmanship, and creating a positive environment where student-athletes can grow athletically, academically, and personally.
  • Key Responsibilities Plan and conduct effective practices that develop fundamental and advanced soccer skills.
  • Teach rules, strategies, game management, and etiquette.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, matches, travel, and team events.
  • Develop lineups and competition strategies based on player performance and improvement.
  • Establish continuity throughout all of Browning’s Soccer teams, communicating with coaches, and teaching the same principles throughout Communicate clearly with athletes, families, and school staff regarding schedules, expectations, and team policies.
  • Promote academic accountability and support athletes in balancing school and sport.
  • Ensure all activities comply with school, league, and state athletic association guidelines.
  • Model positive behavior, sportsmanship, and respect for players, officials, and opponents.
  • Maintain equipment, coordinate with athletic staff, and assist with season logistics including transportation and match arrangements.
  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and encouraging team environment.
  • Knowledge of soccer rules, technique, and etiquette.
  • Prior coaching or playing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to mentor student-athletes and promote character development.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain, depending on school requirements).
  • Ability to work afternoons, evenings, and seasonal weekends.
  • Patient, positive, and motivating coaching style.
  • Commitment to supporting student growth at all skill levels.
