The Foster Parent Support Worker provides direct support, guidance, and coordination services to foster parents to promote the safety, stability, and well-being of foster children. This position serves as a liaison between foster parents, agency staff, and community partners, assisting with documentation, training, access to resources, and navigation of the child welfare system. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Submit, monitor, and track Early Learning Coalition (ELC) referrals and redeterminations for foster children requiring daycare services.
  • Initiate timely contact with foster parents following placement and complete all required 72-hour placement documentation.
  • Utilize FSFN (Florida Safe Families Network) to look up foster parent and child information as needed to complete required 72hr forms and ELC submissions.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with foster parents to provide support with placement-related challenges, including behavioral concerns and system navigation.
  • Provide, collect, process, and maintain foster parent documentation required for stipend setup and direct deposit.
  • Coordinate with the lead agency nurse to obtain Medicaid information and other required medical documentation for foster children.
  • Provide foster parents with information and referrals to community resources, including clothing closets, food banks, back-to-school events, Children’s Board resources, and birthday or celebration programs.
  • Serve as a communication liaison between placement services, agency staff, and foster parents as needed.
  • Attend court hearings, stability staffings, Out-of-Home Care meetings, and other related meetings upon request or as required.
  • Facilitate PRIDE pre-licensing training classes for prospective foster parents.
  • Contact prospective foster parents to remind them of information sessions and PRIDE training, including sending virtual meeting links when applicable.
  • Re-engage previous prospective foster parents to assess continued interest in becoming licensed foster parents.
  • Create, distribute, collect, and analyze foster parent surveys to support program evaluation and continuous quality improvement.
  • Collect disaster preparedness plans from foster parents as required.
  • Attend Camelot Community Care (CCC) unit meetings, staff meetings, and other required agency meetings.
  • Complete all required online trainings through Foster Parent College, Relias, and other approved learning platforms.
  • Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential records in compliance with agency policies and regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support program operations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of the foster care system, licensing requirements, and communitybased resources.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, track, and maintain confidential documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in basic computer applications and online training platforms.
