Practice for this role

About the role

Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of occupational therapy courses within the college curriculum. Provide classroom instruction, supervision, and evaluation of students while maintaining professional relationships with clinical agencies.

Overview The Allen College Occupational Therapy program is seeking to hire several occupational therapy practitioners to serve as adjunct faculty for the 2026 fall semester.

Adjunct faculty are supervised by the Program Director/Chair or Dean.

In compliance with the Clery Act, Allen College publishes an Annual Security Report (ASR) containing three previous years of crime statistics, institutional policies concerning campus safety, and a fire safety report.

The report is available at ASR Report 2025.

A paper copy is available upon request.

The entry-level occupational therapy doctoral degree program has applied for accreditation and has been granted Candidacy Status by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 7501 Wisconsin Avenue, Suite 510E, Bethesda, MD 20814.

ACOTE’s telephone number c/o AOTA is (301) 652-AOTA and its web address is www.acoteonline.org.

The program must have a pre-accreditation review, complete an on-site evaluation and be granted Accreditation Status before its graduates will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination for the occupational therapist administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

After successful completion of this exam, the individual will be an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).

In addition, all states require licensure to practice; however, state licenses are usually based on the results of the NBCOT Certification Examination.

Allen College is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Allen College was recognized by ModernThink ® and The Chronicle of Higher Education as a Great College to Work For in 2025.

Allen College was given Honor Roll status and received recognition in several categories including job satisfaction and support; compensation and benefits; supervisor/department chair effectiveness; confidence in senior leadership; faculty and staff well-being; shared governance; mission and pride, and faculty experience.
