Lower Elementary Guide (Ages 6–9) Knoxville Montessori School Knoxville Montessori School is seeking a Lower Elementary Guide to join our collaborative and mission-driven team.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a thoughtfully prepared Montessori environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of children ages 6–9.

The ideal candidate is a reflective practitioner who values strong relationships, clear communication, and a deep respect for the child.

This guide will partner with the elementary team to deliver meaningful lessons, observe and respond to student needs, and foster independence through Montessori principles.

Key Responsibilities Include: Preparing and maintaining a high-quality Montessori environment Presenting lessons aligned with Montessori curriculum Observing student progress and providing responsive instruction Building strong partnerships with families through consistent communication Collaborating with colleagues to support each child’s growth Participating in school events, conferences, and professional development

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required Montessori certification 6–9 or 6–12; required (AMI preferred) Prior Montessori teaching experience preferred (but will consider applicants completing Montessori training) Strong communication and collaboration skills Commitment to Montessori philosophy and child-centered education Excellent time management and executive functioning skills Knoxville Montessori School serves students through 12th grade and is committed to fostering independence, community, and a lifelong love of learning.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree and Montessori certification (6-9 or 6-12) are required, with AMI certification preferred. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and a commitment to child-centered education.
