Job description
- The Williston Northampton School is an independent co-educational boarding and day school in Easthampton Massachusetts and is a culturally diverse educational community serving grades 7-12.
- We are seeking a full-time History Teacher for the 2026-27 school year.
- This position is responsible for teaching four sections of History across the middle (Grades 7 + 8) and upper school (grades 9 - 12).
- The History Teacher is responsible for planning and developing course content to ensure the quality and continuity of the curriculum.
- This position includes involvement with two seasons of our afternoon athletics and extracurricular activities as well as student advising.
- Living on campus and working in the School’s residential life program may also be an option with this position.
- Driving a school minibus is an expectation of this position.
- Strong candidates will have middle or high school History teaching experience, preferably within an independent boarding school environment.
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required, an advanced degree is preferred.
- The candidate will demonstrate a passion for the study of history and culture, a capacity for working with a range of learning abilities, experience integrating educational technologies into the teaching environment, creativity, and strong writing and communication skills.
- Candidates must possess the flexibility, energy, commitment to teamwork, and appreciation for adolescents that life in an independent school boarding community requires.

- Candidates must be able to successfully complete the state-mandated CORI, as well as SORI, a general background check, and a fingerprint-based criminal background check.
- Candidates must also hold a valid driver’s license.
