Your Mission in Action As a key member of the Clinical team, the therapist provides individual, group, and, when needed, family therapy while managing a caseload of up to 10 youth. This role involves collaborating with program and school staff to develop treatment plans with appropriate goals. The therapist is responsible for addressing the therapeutic and mental health needs of residents in compliance with agency policies, licensing standards, and all applicable regulations. Maintaining licensure and credentialing with STAR Health and other regulatory bodies is also required.

Responsibilities

Complete a preliminary treatment plan, calming coping skills card, and minimization restraint plan with the new resident withing 72 hours of admission Establish goals/treatment through a collaborative process with the resident utilizing advanced counseling skills, including evidence‐based practices; create and update treatment plans, including resident treatment goals and activity formulation Prepare for periodic treatment review meetings by completing and/or updating treatment plans Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate individual, family and group therapy sessions to address residents’ emotional, mental, and social well‐being and as outlined in the treatment plan Provide emergency crisis intervention, on call clinical services needed and follow through to stabilization to residents who are in psychological distress Complete suicide assessment to determine emergency detention or psychiatric hospitalization. Utilize positive child management techniques, including verbal re‐direction, de‐escalation and physical containment when handling behavioral issues and crises with residents Attend weekly clinical team meetings and staffing to provide and discuss any information on each resident. May be required to complete driving duties as driver and/or accompanying during transport. Subject to being designated as an authorized driver Comply with HIPPA privacy regulations and maintain confidentiality at all times Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling, Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work LPC, LMFT, or LCSW full licensure One (1) year relevant experience Ability to establish rapport, trust, and boundaries with children, parents, and families Strong people and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with diverse groups of people Demonstrated ability to maintain a high level of professionalism consistent with the Counseling and/or Social Work Code of Ethics Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage a heavy caseload and meet deadlines Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a group, apply compassion and empathy, when dealing with stressful or difficult situations Must have valid TX driver license and auto insurance in order to be designated as an authorized driver Must be 21 years of age or older per licensing requirements

Preferred Qualifications
