About the role

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner provides direct and indirect care to students and families within the school-based health system. Responsibilities include the evaluation, management, and follow-up of student health care needs, occasionally including telehealth support.

Nemours is seeking a Pediatric Advanced Practice Nurse to join our Eisenberg Elementary New Castle County School-Based Health System Team!

This school-based health APRN position is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children while enjoying a schedule that aligns with the academic year.

This 0.75 FTE associate position operates on a 10-month schedule, offering the unique benefit of working during the school year with school breaks and summers off—an ideal fit for those seeking a rewarding pediatric role with built-in time away during traditional school breaks.

Eisenberg Elementary is located in New Castle, Delaware, and is part of the Colonial School District, which serves students and families throughout the New Castle community.

The district is known for its strong connection to local families and commitment to supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional needs, making this an excellent opportunity to partner closely with educators, families, and community resources in a school-based health setting.

This position is responsible for: An area of specialized nursing practice, and provides direct and indirect care to patients and their families in the ambulatory, and outpatient settings with the Seaford School system The nurse practitioner will carry out the major responsibility for the student’s health care needs including evaluation, management and follow-up This role will occasionally include various additional responsibilities, such as telehealth support.

Requirements

Master of Science in Nursing (PNP) Pediatric Primary Care NP Certification required Three years of pediatric primary care experience Active Delaware (or compact state) Registered Nurse Licensure required Active Delaware Advanced Practice Nurse Licensure, with prescriptive authority required Delaware Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) if practicing in Delaware Federal DEA registration with Office Address Current AHA Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification required Nemours offers its Associates a competitive salary and a robust benefits package that includes relocation, health/life/dental/vision for Associates and their dependents, a wellness program, CME, 403(b) with employer match, licensure and dues allowance, tuition reimbursement, legal plan, adoption assistance and many other benefit options.
