Description The International College of Health Sciences (ICHS) is seeking a dedicated and skilled OB Nursing Instructor to join our academic team. This position offers an exciting opportunity for experienced obstetric nursing professionals to instruct and supervise nursing students in labor and delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care settings. Purpose The OB Clinical Instructor provides direct supervision and instruction to nursing students during their clinical rotations in obstetric patient care environments, including labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn units. This role ensures students develop practical skills, clinical judgment, and professional behaviors necessary for safe and effective obstetric and newborn nursing care.

Responsibilities
Clinical Instruction & Supervision Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing students in OB clinical settings, including labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, and newborn care units. Demonstrate and teach best practices in obstetric nursing, including fetal monitoring, labor support, postpartum assessment, and newborn care. Ensure student compliance with clinical site policies and procedures, including OB-specific safety standards and documentation requirements. Provide timely, constructive feedback and document student performance in OB clinical rotations. Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes confidence and competence in obstetric nursing. Curriculum Implementation Collaborate with academic leadership to deliver OB clinical objectives aligned with course outcomes. Integrate evidence-based obstetric practices and current standards of perinatal and newborn care into instruction. Participate in the development and evaluation of OB clinical curriculum as needed, including simulation and skills check-offs. Professional Communication & Collaboration Serve as a liaison between ICHS, OB clinical site staff, and students. Maintain open, professional communication with faculty, administration, and OB clinical partners. Attend faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities related to obstetric nursing and nursing education. Administrative Duties Complete accurate and timely documentation of student attendance, progress, and evaluations for OB clinical courses. Report any student or site concerns to the appropriate academic leadership in a timely manner. Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and accreditation standards for clinical nursing education.

Qualifications
Education / Experience / Knowledge Unencumbered Florida or Compact State RN License required. Minimum 4 years clinical experience as an RN required, with at least 2 years of recent obstetric nursing experience (labor and delivery, postpartum, antepartum, or mother–baby) strongly preferred. Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school. Experience in clinical instruction, preceptorship, or nursing education preferred. Required Skills Strong clinical knowledge in obstetric and newborn nursing, including maternal assessment, fetal monitoring, labor and delivery processes, and postpartum and newborn care. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary perinatal teams. Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and foster student growth in a clinical learning environment. Proficiency with electronic documentation and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams and across multiple clinical sites. Commitment to upholding the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. Additional Requirements Must reside within commuting distance of Davie, Florida This is not a remote position; on-site presence at OB clinical locations is required. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings as needed.
