Position Summary
for Infants - Preschool Classrooms
The Goddard School® of Greenpoint, located at 85 Commercial Street, Brooklyn, NY 11222 is seeking a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team for infants/toddlers and preschoolers. Our School is a newly built, state-of-the-art, one-story, 10,000-square-foot learning environment designed with children and educators in mind. Filled with natural light and thoughtfully created spaces, our School offers an inspiring setting where teachers can do their best work and children can learn, explore, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities • Curriculum and Instruction
- Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities using Goddard’s Wonder of Learning® curriculum.
- Classroom
- Management: Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment. Create engaging activities that support cognitive, physical, and language development. Balance structured teaching and play-based learning. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment.
- Family
- Communication: Maintain open, effective and positive communication with families and guardians about their child’s progress and daily activities.
- Health and
- Safety: Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to uphold health and safety standards, licensing regulations and ensure their well-being
- Professional
- Development: Participate actively in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching skills
- Assessment and
- Documentation: Observe, assess and document children’s learning and development to inform activities and share insights with families
- Team
- Collaboration: Collaborate with school leadership and team members to support classroom quality and school-wide initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree or higher in early childhood education
- Experience working in an early childhood classroom preferred.
- Strong understanding of child development, play-based learning, and developmentally appropriate practice.
- Ability to create engaging lesson plans and manage a classroom with confidence and care.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to meet all licensing, health, and safety requirements for the role.
