About the role

The Assistant Coach will help create and execute practice and match plans while overseeing team operations and administrative duties. They are responsible for coordinating travel logistics and maintaining professional communication with student-athletes, parents, and staff.

Trevor benefits from state-of-the-art athletic facilities, including three gyms and training areas with fitness equipment.

We welcome candidates for a Varsity Girls Soccer Assistant Coach for the fall 2026 season.

This part-time, stipended position begins August 10th and ends November 7th.

Practices generally occur on weekdays between 3:30 and 7:00 PM, but matches occasionally run beyond that time.

Practices and home games are held on Randall's Island.

Coaches are a vital part of the Trevor community, and we encourage them to take advantage of meals on campus and participate in schoolwide events.

The stipend ranges from $2,275 to $3,900 for the 13-week season.

Responsibilities

Attend all practices and matches. Help create and execute all practice and match plans. Oversee team operations and administrative duties. Coordinate travel logistics. Attend all necessary athletic and school meetings. Communicate regularly with student-athletes, parents, staff, and administrators. Provide leadership and give detailed feedback to student-athletes. Exhibit the highest professional standards and ethical behavior.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; minimum of one year of relevant coaching experience. Previous high school or college playing experience is preferred. Strong understanding of soccer skills and strategies. Growth mindset and passion for learning. Ability to form strong professional relationships with students, families, and colleagues. Excellent organizational and communication skills, with strong attention to detail. Commitment to equity and inclusion. Enthusiasm for working in a collaborative, independent school setting Positivity, flexibility, patience, and a sense of humor. Candidates must complete 1) the Centers for Disease Control’s HEADS up concussion awareness training and 2) First Aid/AED/CPR certification before the start of the season.
