- Summary: As the Lead Teacher in the preschool, your role is to comply with the center's training requirements, policies, and procedures while working towards achieving its goals. You will be the go-to person for classroom teachers and represent your age group during Lead meetings. Your responsibilities will entail working with other employees, parents, church staff, and the Director. It is preferable that church employees consistently attend worship service (virtually or physically) on a regular basis. By doing so, he/she will be more in touch with the life, activities, and patterns of Village Baptist Church.

- Responsibilities: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children assigned to your class while they are checked in at the Preschool. Establish long-term objectives for your age group based on the children's needs. Notify the Preschool Director of any required supplies and equipment. Assisted in conducting regular inventory and maintenance checks of classroom and playground equipment and reported maintenance needs to the preschool director. Assemble or store new supplies and equipment when needed and appropriate. Develop weekly plans that include specific activities based on continuous assessment. Greet each child and parent when they enter the classroom. Prepare weekly lesson plans and post them in the room by Friday for the following week. Plan and set up the room with centers that provide an interesting and stimulating environment. Fulfill the responsibilities assigned to you by the Preschool Director. Maintain attendance records and make notes of problems and progress in each student's record and folder. Conduct yourself in a Christian manner that is pleasing to God at all times. Attend staff meetings, parent meetings, and in-service training sessions. Keep the room clean and tidy, and ensure that it is well-prepared for Sunday and Wednesday services on Tuesday and Friday nights. Build positive relationships with parents through daily conversations, newsletter contributions, scheduled conferences and meetings, and special events. Email each parent during the first month of school to express their pleasure at having their child in the classroom. Maintain a confidential file on each child's current observations, assessment results, progress reports, samples of children's work, and information shared by parents. Provide appropriate materials, supplies, and lesson plans for substitutes as needed.

You should be able to relate to adults on all levels of the socio-economic structure of the community and different races. You should have a basic knowledge of child development to apply to your working conditions and environment. You should remain calm and use sound judgment in an emergency. You should be able to interact and communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and the general public. You should be able to work well without close supervision. You must exhibit Christian qualities of patience, cheerfulness, optimism, flexibility, cooperation, and reliability.
