About the role

The coordinator is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating recreational programs and special events for teenagers. They also provide individual guidance and ensure the facility remains a safe and clean environment.

The After School Program Teen Center Coordinator (011) is responsible for planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating teen programs, activities, & events and providing individual guidance and referrals as needed. We are offering an exciting opportunity for an After School Program Teen Center Coordinator (011) at our Thomas S. Murphy Clubhouse (011) located in Brooklyn, NY.

This is a part-time position working 20-25 hours a week Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities for the After School Program Teen Center Coordinator (011) Position:

Plan, develop & implement recreation programs, special events and leisure activities.

Administer recreation programs to ensure that programs are delivered within guidelines and budgets.

Promote recreational programs in order to ensure that members are aware of available opportunities and activities.

Ensure recreation facilities are maintained in order to ensure a safe, clean and appropriate environment for recreation activities.

Required Skills/Knowledge for the After School Program Teen Center Coordinator (011) Position:

A high school diploma required; some college experience and at least 1 year of experience in youth development preferred.

Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct recreational programs and services.

Ability to communicate effectively with teenagers from diverse backgrounds as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner.

Must be highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
