The Allied Health Sciences Division at Horry-Georgetown Technical College is seeking applicants for an Associate Professor, Patient Care. The Patient Care Medical Assistant program prepares students with the necessary skills to function as high quality, entry-level patient care medical assistants in a variety of healthcare settings. The instructor will be responsible for assisting the program director with development of course content, as well as teaching didactically, in lab, and clinical settings.
Candidates should possess working knowledge of Patient Care Medical Assistant certifications that include Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, and EKG Technician.
The candidate should be familiar with ethical obligations, OSHA and HIPAA regulations as they pertain to patient care.
Strong clinical medical assisting skills are required.
Candidate will work closely with students and other faculty.
Strong teamwork, collaboration, and effective interpersonal skills are required.
The teaching load is 20-24 credit hours per semester.
Candidate will be expected to work on all Horry-Georgetown Technical College campuses.
