Purpose of the Job
- Responsible for direction and overall supervision of a classroom of preschool aged children. Performs activities that promote safety, involvement, and creativity of each individual in the group. Works with team teachers to plan, discuss and implement daily plans in accordance to the Abeka curriculum and the accreditation standards set by Foundations Preschool. I.

- Required: Must currently meet, or be able to obtain, a 45 hour certification for the Early Childhood Education and Care Department, OR have an associates in Early Childhood/Early Elementary Education, by August 1st, 2026. Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for teaching standards and promoting developmental milestones Responsible for the supervision of a preschool aged classroom (8 students : 1 teacher) Extended care coverage (at least 2 days per week) 1:1 check-in with preschool principal monthly Ensure health and safety of students at all times Meet the developmental needs/standards of each child through planned activities Collect notes, assessments, and data on students to provide progress statements Teach the Abeka curriculum with creative supports to reach the needs of your students Create a fun and engaging learning atmosphere for students Assure all required classroom/student documentation is completed in a timely manner (lesson plans, assessments, parent/teacher conference reports, daily attendance, supplies, etc.) Attend teacher professional development meetings and assist in achieving preschool goals Weekly communication with families through the Brightwheel App and meeting/conferences Maintain a fun, safe, and inviting environment that appeals to families and preschool staff alike

- Monday: 8:30am - 1:30pm
- Tuesday: 8:30am - 1:30pm
- Wednesday: 8:30am - 1:30pm
- Thursday: 8:30am - 1:30pm
- Extended care takes place from 1:30pm-5:30pm each day; teachers are scheduled two days of extended care per week. Providers may leave once all students have been picked up. Hours reflected are for established school year. Teachers’ first day is Aug 4, 2026, and last day is May 20, 2027. Students first day is Aug 10, 2026, and last day is May 18, 2027.
