  • Functions: This is a Non-Exempt position. The role of a Certified nsxlcin Language Teacher is to teach the language in the classroom and to plan, prepare and devliver instructional activities and opportunities toward fluency in the Tribal language and traditional cultural knowledge. Language teachers are masters of their language, demonstrating a high proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking the language that they are teaching. With these skills, an environment is created for teachers and staff to learn effectively. Language teachers may need to teach several levels concurrently, from beginning speakers of the language to those who are approaching fluency.

Requires a nsxlcin language teaching certificate Requires OSPI Certification Must have minimum of 3 years teaching experience in nsxlcin language to early childhood, intermediate (3-5 grades) middle school (6-10) and adults Requires Washington State Driver's license. Obtain a First Aid/CPR Card within 30 days of employment and keep current during employment.

Must demonstrate sound mental and physical health.
