  • Summary: The Adjunct Faculty Instructor in English is responsible for delivering effective instruction in English courses, including composition, literature, and communication skills. The instructor will prepare and deliver lesson plans, assess student performance, and provide support to help students achieve course objectives.
  • Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to: Delivering engaging and comprehensive English instruction to diverse student populations. Developing and implementing course materials and assessments that align with program goals. Monitoring student progress and providing timely feedback to enhance learning outcomes. Maintaining accurate records of attendance, grades, and other required documentation. Participating in professional development and adhering to WSU Tech academic policies and standards.

Education

  • Master’s degree in English, Communications, Fine Arts, or a closely related field OR master’s degree and 18 hours of graduate work in the teaching discipline.

  • Skills: Previous teaching experience in English at the college or adult education level, preferred. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate students. Experience with diverse student populations and inclusive teaching practices. Proficiency with learning management systems and online teaching technologies, with willingness to teach in hybrid or online formats.
