Job description

Support student wellbeing and academic success by providing comprehensive, student-centered counseling services. The Counseling Specialist delivers individual and group counseling, conducts mental health assessments, and provides crisis intervention and case management to help students navigate personal challenges that may impact their educational goals.

In this role, you will assess student needs and provide brief therapy, referrals, and coordinated care, including suicide risk assessment and crisis response. You’ll administer and interpret standardized assessments to inform treatment and track outcomes, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and ensure compliance with ethical and professional standards. You’ll also develop and facilitate workshops and outreach initiatives that promote mental health awareness, prevention, and stigma reduction across campus. Working collaboratively with campus departments and community partners, you will help connect students to a network of resources that support their overall wellbeing.

We’re looking for a clinician with strong crisis intervention and assessment skills, a solid understanding of mental health treatment and addiction issues, and the ability to communicate effectively in both one-on-one and group settings. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and proficient in electronic health records and standard technology tools. Success in this role requires sound clinical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to build trust with students while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

If you’re committed to supporting student wellbeing and delivering impactful counseling services, we encourage you to apply.
