Job description
- Trevor Day School is seeking Afterschool Teachers for our Preschool through Grade 5 students, starting in the fall of 2026.
- Children in the program attend different specialized classes.
- Those who are not registered for classes stay with the Afterschool Teachers.
- They complete homework, engage in free play, or join an organized group activity.
- The program runs from 2:30 to 5:45 pm, Monday through Friday.
- Job Responsibilities: Supervise a large group of children with other Afterschool Teachers.
- Oversee daily routines, including attendance, snacks, and dismissal.
- Develop and lead activities that engage children.
- Assist with specialized classes as needed: dance, sports, rollerblading, cooking, etc.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous experience working with children at the early childhood and/or elementary level. Strong verbal communication skills. Ideal candidates should possess: Ability to work collaboratively. Creativity and flexibility. Positive attitude and a sense of humor. Additional Opportunities: Afterschool Teachers often work as Substitute Teachers during the day. Afterschool Teachers can work at various evening events during the year, providing childcare. Afterschool Teachers can help run a two-week camp in June. The pay for this position is $33 per hour.
