- Position Overview Cornerstone Learning Community is seeking a caring, energetic, and collaborative Assistant Teacher to support classroom instruction and student learning.
- This part-time role works closely with the lead teacher to help create a positive, engaging, and structured learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of students.
- The Assistant Teacher plays an important role in reinforcing instruction, supporting classroom management, and helping meet the individual needs of students.

- Key Responsibilities The following is a subset of responsibilities and is not inclusive of all duties: Support the lead teacher in daily classroom instruction and activities Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts Assist in preparing instructional materials and classroom resources Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment Support positive student behavior using established classroom management strategies Supervise students during transitions, recess, lunch, and other non-instructional times Provide support for differentiated instruction based on student needs Assist in monitoring student progress and classroom participation Collaborate with the lead teacher and staff to support student success Help implement classroom routines and procedures consistently Support school events, activities, and enrichment programs as needed Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, and school matters
Qualifications
High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in education or related field preferred Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, or youth program setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude Ability to work collaboratively as part of a teaching team Understanding of child development and classroom support strategies Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Passion for working with children and supporting student growth Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the classroom and school campus Ability to lift up to 25–40 lbs as needed for classroom and student support Ability to work with children on the floor during instruction and activities Ability to supervise students outdoors in varying weather conditions Visual and auditory ability to ensure student safety and supervision at all times Why Join Us?
