Position Duties

THE NURSING PROGRAM AT LOYOLA UNIVERSITY MARYLAND invites applications for per-course affiliate faculty to serve as clinical instructors in the as Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program, launched in Fall 2025. Positions are open on a rolling basis, based on program needs, and we welcome your application.

Loyola's innovative BSN degree program integrates an exceptional liberal arts foundation with a holistic nursing education steeped in the Jesuit care and social justice tradition. Our BSN students are prepared to exercise exceptional clinical judgment and provide patient-centered care in all healthcare settings and across the span of human life, with particular emphasis on serving the medically underserved. In line with the program's mission, our clinical instructors are passionate about mentoring students in the art and science of nursing and use their clinical acumen and teaching expertise to help prepare future nurses to learn, lead, and serve in a diverse and changing world.

  • Per-course instructors follow established syllabi adhering to accreditation standards and are issued course-specific contracts for each semester they teach for us.
  • The successful candidate will be instructing students in a clinical setting in Baltimore, MD, such as Mercy Medical Center or the surrounding area hospitals.
  • Teaching assignments will align with program needs and instructor expertise.

Compensation Range

$1,333 - $2,250 per credit hour, based on qualifications and experience.

Clinical expertise in subject area to be taught: Health Assessment, Fundamentals, Medical-Surgical, Pediatrics, Maternal-Child, Mental Health, Community Health, Transition to Practice

Preferred Qualifications

(1) Preference will be given to the candidate with successful teaching experience at the university or college level (2) Demonstrated commitment to the profession as evidenced in record of professional leadership or public service.

Final compensation offers are determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, job-related experience, internal equity, and alignment with organizational budget.

Successful candidates for any staff, faculty, or administrative position at Loyola University Maryland will be subject to a pre-employment background check.
