Job description

Overview

Provides supervision and instruction to children in early childhood classroom. Develops and implements lesson plans and daily schedules; maintains all applicable licensing and accreditation guidelines; assesses children's learning and development, and coordinates services and communicates regularly with families.

Qualifications

  • Child Development Associate Credential from a college or technical school; Certificate of Mastery in Early Childhood Education, 18 college credit hours in Early Childhood Development, Human and Family Services, Elementary Education, Family and Consumer Science or other related field.

  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.   • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Possess or ability to obtain Entry Level Child Care Training (ELECT) within 90 days of employment.
