Job Overview Be Strong International is seeking an experienced Security Monitor to provide security services for our after-school program at Lake Stevens Middle School in 18484 NW 48th Place, Miami Gardens, Florida. The Security Monitor will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors during designated program hours. This part-time position requires strong observation skills, professionalism, and the ability to respond effectively to safety concerns while supporting a positive atmosphere for youth development.
Monday–Friday, 2:20 p.m. – 5:20 p.m. Approximately 15 hours per week, aligned with after-school program hours at the assigned school site. Security Monitor is expected to remain on-site until the last student has been released to an authorized adult.
Campus Safety & Student Supervision Monitor program entry and exit points during after-school program hours. Conduct perimeter checks and observes program areas to support a safe environment. Prevent unauthorized student departures and notify the Site Supervisor immediately if such incidents occur. Provide a visible, professional presence to promote student safety until program conclusion. Parent Pickup & Student Release Enforce student sign-out procedures in line with program requirements. Verify parent/guardian identity before releasing students. Record late pickups, enforce late pick up fees, and communicate recurring issues to the Site Supervisor. Greet families courteously and direct program-related questions to the Site Supervisor. Facility Security & Reporting Conduct visual safety checks of classrooms, outdoor areas, and common spaces used by the program. Report maintenance issues, hazards, or security concerns to the Site Supervisor. Document safety-related incidents or unusual events as required. Supportive Engagement Promote a welcoming and positive environment for students and families. Collaborate with staff as needed to support safe transitions during dismissal and special events.
Preferred prior experience in MDCPS and/or BCPS school safety, youth supervision, or security services. Ability to enforce safety and security procedures consistently and professionally. Strong observation and conflict resolution skills. Professional demeanor when interacting with students, families, and staff. Must maintain current CPR/First Aid certification. Must pass Level II background screening and sex offender registry check.
