Summary Visiting Assistant Professor to assist Primary Faculty in delivering course content to Physician Associate Studies students, with focus on specialties and disciplines of the applicant. Assist with delivery of lab experiences. This is a 25% time, 12-month appointment, beginning August 2026.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and clinically experienced Physician Associate/Assistant to join our program as a Visiting Assistant Professor. This role is designed for a clinician who is passionate about shaping the next generation of PAs. You will provide high-quality instruction, contribute to curriculum development, and mentor students as they transition from classroom learners to clinical practitioners. Key Responsibilities: Instruction: Deliver engaging lectures and lead laboratory sessions in areas of clinical expertise (e.g., Physical Diagnosis, Pharmacology, or Clinical Medicine). Student Assessment: Develop and grade examinations, oversee Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), and provide constructive feedback on student performance. Curriculum Development: Collaborate with the Academic Director to update course materials, ensuring alignment with current ARC-PA standards and evidence-based practice. Program Support: Participate in program committees, admissions interviews, and accreditation-related activities as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Required: Master’s degree from an accredited PA program. Current NCCPA certification. Eligible for state licensure as a Physician Associate. Minimum of 3 years of active clinical practice. Consideration will be given to candidates with: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to simplify complex medical concepts for adult learners. Prior experience as a clinical preceptor or in a formal teaching role. Familiarity with educational technology and Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard).
