About the Role

Preschool teachers at The Rhoades School have the unique opportunity to work with gifted and intellectually curious students and implement new academic challenges and opportunities. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs and passions of gifted students. The preschool curriculum balances preparation for reading, writing, and math along with art, music, and important social skills and emphasis on character development. You will also… Develop classroom resources and a physical environment that supports students and their learning Collaborate with other faculty and school teams to positively impact student experience Continuously bring together different instruction methods to help students delve deeper into subjects Communicate with parents to support student achievement What We Are Looking For Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university Strong communicator with the ability to help students delve deep into subjects Ability to successfully pass a state and federal background check Prior to being hired, a teacher shall have twelve post-secondary semester units or equivalent quarter units in early childhood education or child development completed, with passing grades (C or better), at an accredited or approved college or university, as well as, at least six months of work experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. In general, this position requires an individual to frequently walk, stand, sit, squat, stoop, reach, kneel, rise from the floor, twist, listen, read, write, and speak the English language. In addition, this position often requires an individual to carry, lift, use repetitive or fine hand movements, and occasionally push, pull, or bend. This position is regularly required to hear and use clear vision with or without correction.
