The Job Coach assesses and prepares individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for competitive community employment. They develop Supported Employment Plans and maintain relationships with employers to ensure successful job placement and retention.
A High School Diploma or GED is required, with an associate degree and one year of related caregiving experience preferred. Candidates must possess a valid NYS driver's license and pass NYS and OPWDD background clearances.

The position is located in Catskill. Monday- Friday 8am-4pm. The schedule will adjust to accommodate evenings and weekends as needed to provide appropriate support.
The job coach will be able to assess and prepare the people we support in finding work in the community. They will work with the Care Manager to develop a Supported Employment Plan that will be used to direct the person’s direction in employment support. They will work with a caseload of people and employers to develop working relationships that enables them to have success in competitive employment in the community.
The employee must have the ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions, short correspondence/memos. Have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Have the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide 2-3 digit numbers using units of United States’ currency, weight, volume, and distance measurements.
Have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Have the ability to problem solve, involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
The employee agrees to comply with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, rules, regulations, and standards of conduct relating to the position. All staff must pass all NYS Justice Center Background Check Requirements, and Physical. In addition, the employee has a duty to report any suspected violations of the law (including any motor vehicle infractions) to the Human Resources Department.
