About the role

The Lead Teacher is responsible for delivering the Life Essential Curriculum and managing all aspects of classroom supervision and hygiene. They must prepare instructional materials and conduct parent-teacher conferences to support children's physical, social, and emotional growth.

We are currently seeking Pre-K Lead teacher for Kiddie Academy of New Market. Pre-K Lead teacher will be responsible for delivering Life Essential Curriculam provided by Kiddie Academy, classroom management, and supervision, which includes the personal care, hygiene, and positive discipline of the children. As a Lead Teacher, you will prepare and implement activities for children that stress physical, social, and emotional growth and provide materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in active play.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safe environment of the classroom are appropriately maintained
  • Prepares for Lesson Plans and executes those according to the Life Essential curriculam. Manages the classroom and supervises the children.
  • Completes all academy and classroom paperwork, such as daily notes, student accident reports, and attendance reports
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings, academy events, and parent meetings as requested
  • Helps and supervises children during all activities
  • Counsels children when social, academic, or adjustment problems arise
  • Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans, programs, and schedules
  • Develops, plans, and prepares instructional aids/materials for classroom activities
  • Helps children with meal times and clean-up
  • Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment are in good working condition and are used and maintained properly
  • Physically arranges the classroom into well-defined interest areas
  • Directs activities of other staff in the classroom to ensure that the classroom functions in an orderly manner
  • Communicates appropriate information to parents and maintains developmental profiles for children
  • Prepare for and conduct parent/teacher conferences once a year
  • Maintains family Evidence of Learning Board.
  • Ensures that classroom medication schedule is followed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must meet all requirements stipulated by the state for this position
  • Must have Bachelor’s' degree in related field
  • Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility is a must.
  • Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Must be able to interact appropriately with students of all ages and skill levels as well as with parents, coworkers, and management.
  • Must be able to lift no less than 40 pounds on a consistent basis throughout the workday to at least waist high

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in a related field and have prior teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility. Physical ability to lift at least 40 pounds and a professional, friendly demeanor are also required.
