We are looking for someone who has a mind full of wonder and a heart-filled desire to work with little humans! We’re on a mission to champion what’s best for each child and family. As an Educational Aide, you’ll be an essential part of our early childhood education team. Your responsibilities would include supporting classroom staff, helping maintain a safe and nurturing environment for young children, and engaging with children throughout their daily routines and learning experiences. In short, our Educational Aide will help children feel safe, supported and encouraged as they learn, play and grow. Summary and Responsibilities Helping children discover new interests in their daily environment! Developing and encouraging age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners and sharing. Keeping daily records related to the care of each child. Providing direct, effective and interactive supervision of children in classrooms, on field trips and during outdoor activities. Supporting lead educators and classroom staff in facilitating hands-on activities and daily routines. Promoting self-help skills and independence in children. Communicating professionally with parents and caregivers during drop-off, pick-up and daily updates. Interacting respectfully with children, parents, caregivers and team members.   • Ideally, you are:
  • At least 19 years of age.
  • A high school graduate or equivalent.
  • A strong communicator with staff, children, parents and caregivers.
  • Open to learning about developmental stages, effective childcare discipline management, parent and child communication, classroom environments specific to ages and stages, and standards for high-quality care.
  • Able to read and interpret safety rules, program manuals and other documents related to childcare.
  • Able to write daily reports and support lesson plans
  • Able to establish effective relationships with children, parents, caregivers and co-workers.
  • Able to safely support children’s physical needs, including getting up and down from the floor, pursuing active children, holding infants and maintaining safety during daily routines.
  • Able to interact with clients and staff with sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural and socioeconomic characteristics in the service population. Bonus Points Previous experience working with young children in childcare, preschool or early childhood education setting. Experience communicating with parents or caregivers in a professional setting.
