Adjunct Faculty instructors are responsible for course planning and instruction in various settings, including classroom and online formats. They are also responsible for student evaluation and timely submission of required paperwork related to instruction.
Candidates should have five to ten years of experience in homeland security or related fields, with teaching experience being highly favorable. A bachelor's degree is preferred, but a combination of education and experience will be considered.
Adjunct Faculty instructors at College of DuPage are responsible for course planning and instruction in classroom, lab, or clinical settings, courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as, face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats. In addition, adjunct faculty are responsible for student evaluation, and timely and accurate submission of required paperwork related to instruction. Required Qualifications: The Homeland Security Training Institute (HSTI) at College of DuPage is focused on education for law enforcement, fire science, first responders and corporate security personnel in the area of homeland security. Through a series of courses in program models such as law enforcement, disaster preparedness, counterterrorism, intelligence, emergency response, NIMS/NRF/ICS, and private sector security, the HSTI continues to develop programs for working professionals. Providing training to combat threats in today's society is ever changing, and HSTI will continue to be a leader in this area through developing and offering education to meet these needs. The appropriate applicant will have five to ten years of work experience in a homeland security, private sector security, or criminal justice related position. Teaching experience in homeland security, private sector security, or criminal justice related field is highly favorable. A bachelor's degree is preferred, however, applicants with a combination of education and experience in the field of homeland security will be considered. Applicants should have knowledge and experience in any of the following homeland security areas: Private Sector Security, NIMS/NRF/ICS, Intelligence, Counterterrorism, Disaster Preparedness, Emergency Response, Law Enforcement. This is an in-person opportunity, on the main campus in Glen Ellyn, Illinois.
