Provide personal care and necessary accommodations to youth with disabilities to ensure their participation in EPIC programming. Support staff in executing workshops, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities while promoting independence.
Requires at least one year of experience in human services working with people with disabilities, including personal care and physical transfers. A valid driver's license or dependable transportation is required for travel between partners.
Assist EPIC youth with personal care routines as needed (toileting, eating, etc.) Support youth by providing needed accommodations to ensure their participation in EPIC programming Work with EPIC staff to assist in preparing for programming to make sure the needs of all of EPIC's young leaders are being met Supervise youth during workshops, volunteer opportunities, and recreational activities Represents Triangle and EPIC to family members, community organizations, and partners Provide Program Participants with instruction in performing community service projects and other programming Ensure that all personal care assistance provided to EPIC youth fits into EPIC's self-advocacy model by ensuring that all assistance is youth-led Additional
Maintain proper care, use, inventory, and storage of supplies and equipment Assist in curriculum and program execution Participate in all required training Intervene in minor behavioral issues Participate in team meetings Assist in reaching programmatic goals set by the EPIC Executive Director Other duties as assigned
A minimum of 1 year of experience in human services, which includes experience working with people with disabilities. Experience assisting people with disabilities with their personal care. This includes the ability to physically assist with transfers when necessary. This position requires traveling to different partners. Candidate must have a valid driver's license or dependable transportation.
