Wage Range: $30 for a 30-minute class $55 for 55-minute class

Certifications: Aerobic Instructor certification, American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification

Summary of Position

Instruct and/or coach groups or individuals in aerobic and strengthening water classes and /or therapeutic classes focusing on joint mobility and rehabilitation. Demonstrates strong leadership, motivational skills, and communication skills. Develop individualized and group exercise sessions aimed at helping individuals achieve their fitness goals that are fun, effective and safe.

• Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Plan routines, choose different movements for each set of muscles, depending on participants' capabilities and limitations
• Observe participants and inform them of corrective measures necessary for skill improvement
• Teach proper breathing techniques used during physical exertion
• Instruct participants in maintaining exertion levels in order to maximize benefits from exercise routines
• Conduct therapeutic, recreational, or athletic activities
• Monitor participants' progress and adapt programs as needed
• Evaluate individuals' abilities, needs, and physical conditions, and develop suitable training programs to meet any special requirements
• Responsible for safely and effectively instructing various levels and types of aquatic fitness classes for members and guests
• Greets, introduces and welcomes participants; acquaints new participants with class procedures. Answers questions and interacts with participants after class instruction
• Demonstrates and monitors proper form and safe exercise technique using positive reinforcement, according to industry standards and Quail Run guidelines
• Develops and instructs exercise classes, including style and choreography
• Promotes classes and assists with Quail Run promotions events
• Finds proper substitutes for classes when necessary
• Ability to work required schedule

Requirements

• High School Graduate
• Previous experience as a Water Therapy/Water Aerobics instructor
• Water Aerobic/Water Therapy Instructor certification
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification

Physical demands

Lifting 50 lbs. with frequent lifting and or carrying of objects weighing up to 20 lbs. Requires waiting, walking, or standing to a significant degree. Reaching. Handling. Talking. Listening. Ability to demonstrate and instruct physical exercises in a group or individual format.
