About the role

The Medical Assistant provides preventive, acute, and chronic care services to students within a school-based health program. Key duties include conducting health screenings, coordinating referrals, facilitating telehealth visits, and maintaining clinical documentation.

Join CHI's School-Based Health Team and Help Students Thrive

Community Health of South Florida, Inc. (CHI) operates one of the largest school-based health programs in South Florida, providing comprehensive health services in 58 schools throughout Miami-Dade County. Our school-based health centers are much more than a traditional school nurse model—they represent a holistic approach to supporting the physical, behavioral, and emotional well-being of students so they can stay healthy, remain in school, and achieve their full potential.

As a member of our school-based health team, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adolescents every day. Working alongside nurses, medical providers, behavioral health professionals, and school personnel, you will help address critical healthcare needs, improve access to care for underserved families, support students with chronic health conditions, provide preventive services, and connect families to vital community resources.

At a time when student health and mental health needs have never been greater, CHI is committed to ensuring that every child has access to high-quality, compassionate care where they spend most of their day—at school. If you are passionate about serving youth, value teamwork and innovation, and want to be part of a mission-driven program that is improving lives and strengthening communities, we encourage you to apply.
