Requires a Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy and a valid DC DOH PT License. Candidates must have experience in care planning and the ability to work effectively with children in diverse settings.
Join our dynamic team as a Part-Time School-Based Physical Therapist! In this vital role, you will provide expert PT services to young students, helping them achieve optimal mobility, independence, and participation in school activities. Your expertise will support students’ physical development and ensure they receive personalized care plans tailored to their unique needs. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in children’s lives while working within a collaborative school environment.
Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ physical abilities, including mobility, strength, and coordination. Develop and implement individualized care plans that align with each student’s specific needs and educational goals. Provide targeted interventions such as trigger point therapy, orthopedics techniques, and gait training to enhance functional abilities. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to coordinate care and monitor progress effectively. Educate school staff and families on exercises, mobility aids, and home care strategies to support ongoing development. Ensure compliance with health and safety standards while delivering patient-centered care in a school setting. Caseload Details: Flexible availability is ideal given small number caseload Will be working with 3 students at 1 location and 1 student at another location Many decisions and plans are developed as a member of a multidisciplinary team Access to shared office space
Experience with care planning, discharge planning, and managing care across inpatient, outpatient, home health, and community settings. Proficiency in using EMR systems for documentation and treatment tracking. Ability to work effectively with children in diverse settings such as schools or home environments. Excellent communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including educators, healthcare providers, and families.
