What is the pay? The pay level varies depending on experience, educational background and other factors.
How many hours per week will be required? Hours will vary depending on your time availability and student demands for your services.
All tutoring takes place in The Otis Hawkins Center for Academic & Personal Excellence located inside Farrior Hall on campus.
Hours of operation are below.
Fall and Spring: Monday - Thursday 8am – 10pm, Friday 8am – 5pm and Sunday 4-10pm.
Summer A: Monday - Thursday 8am – 9pm and Friday 8am – 3pm.
Summer B: Monday - Thursday 8am – 10pm, Friday 8am – 3pm, Sunday 6-9pm.
What subjects can I tutor? Tutors may help students if they received a B+ or higher in the course (faculty recommendation can replace the B+ for engineering, math and science majors).
Can I tutor if I have another job on campus? Yes. The University Athletic Association is a separate entity from UF. You must complete UAA HR paperwork and attend a new tutor orientation even if you are a UF employee.
How will I be notified if I am considered for a tutoring position? You will be contacted via e-mail if your qualifications match with our current tutor needs.
If you do not hear from us, it means your skills are not needed for the current semester. There is no need to resubmit an application since all applications will be placed in a file for future consideration.
If you are selected, you will be contacted by the Tutorial Program Coordinator.
You will then complete new hire paperwork and attend a UAA new tutor orientation.
You will also be required to attend a mandatory compliance orientation.
During the orientations, you will learn about all tutorial procedures.
We will carefully review application materials and match applicants with our current areas of need.
Qualified applicants will be contacted for an interview.
