Help facilitate students’ communicative study and time management skills as well as assist in the development of test taking strategies. Help students to build confidence in subject areas and help develop problem solving and critical thinking abilities. Create a learning environment that will facilitate the desire to learn and help students to gain self-motivation for self-improvement. Help students to develop academic skills in preparation for the state mandated tests, i.e., NJSLA, PSAT, SAT/ACT. Participate in the planning and delivery of team-teaching and thematic lesson plans with other instructors in the same subject area and/or grade level. Submit typed lesson plans on time and in accordance with NJCB requirements. Assist in developing and implementing the Consortium/GEAR UP Curriculum based on the New Jersey Common Core Standards for the program. Maintain accurate academic records and files. Assist in the administration, design, and evaluation of standardized diagnostic and placement tests as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English or related required; or in limited circumstances, the equivalent combination of education and experience.
