Provide one-on-one and small group academic support to middle and high school students in Math, Science, and English Language Arts. Facilitate study groups and assist students in comprehending discipline-specific subject matter and learning objectives.
Overview Provide academic student support by working one-on-one and in small groups with middle and high school students on specific concepts ie. Math, science, and English Language Arts and skills.
Tutor individual and small groups of students in fundamental and advandced skills and areas of knowledge. Facilitiate study groups. Provide assistance to students in comprehending discipline specific subject matter. Respond to student quesstions requiring an in-depth knowledge of subject matter, course concepts and learning objectives. Assist in conducting student support functions. Provide assistance with testing in special circumstances where discipline specific knowledge is required (e.g. students with special needs). Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required in the field or related field or, in limited circumstances, the equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
A bachelor's degree in a related field is required, and prior tutoring experience with K-12 students is desirable. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
