Join Our Mission

Light of the World Academy (LOTWA) is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Middle School Teacher to lead a self-contained classroom for students in grades 7 and 8. We are looking for an educator who is passionate about helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally while creating a positive and engaging classroom culture.

While an English Language Arts (ELA) background is preferred, we welcome candidates from other educational backgrounds who possess strong instructional skills and a commitment to student success.

The ideal candidate will have excellent classroom management skills, experience working with middle school students, and a passion for fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and lifelong learning. Experience with Montessori education, project-based learning, or other student-centered instructional approaches is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in a self-contained 7th and 8th grade classroom.
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Michigan academic standards.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes student achievement and personal growth.
  • Utilize effective classroom management strategies to maintain a productive learning environment.
