Assesses individual and group needs. Compiles data regarding programs, evaluates results and implements needed changes. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities A Bachelor's Degree in Education, Child Life, Child Psychology or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience with children in a hospital setting. Child Life Certification preferred Work requires analytical ability to assess developmental educational needs, and to develop individualized plans to meet those needs. Work requires one year on the job training to acquire necessary familiarity with departmental policies and procedures. Demonstrates leadership ability and interpersonal skills sufficient to ensure quality communication between multidisciplinary team members that enhances patient/family satisfaction. Work Conditions Works in patient care environment with some exposure to communicable diseases. Work requires standing and walking; may assist with lifting and positioning of patient. Key Job Duties Demonstrates fiscal responsibility by preparing reports for and maintaining records for Auxiliary and Foundation accounts. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the ages of the patient serviced on assigned unit - Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Demonstrates knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span by completing required competencies.
