The Baldwin School is seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher - Early Childhood Center (Pre-Kindergarten) to work collaboratively with Pre-Kindergarten teaching faculty to help girls develop academic and social-emotional skills. All Baldwin teachers participate in the life of the School and support the School's mission. Successful candidates will possess a love of working with students and creating a joyful learning environment. They will model curiosity and a desire for professional growth, engage students positively with a growth mindset, and exhibit a willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues. They will possess a high level of energy and flexibility as well as a sense of humor, and they will have an understanding of and appreciation for girls'education. This position is an opportunity for new teachers to work directly in a classroom with the support and supervision of our expert faculty.
Assist the Lead Teacher in delivering instruction through individual, small group, and whole-class teaching; Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan lessons and document student growth; Supervise and assist students in navigating daily routines, such as transitions, meal times, and recess; Help maintain a clean and organized classroom space; Perform arrival and dismissal duties; Support attendance tracking, documentation of student work, and updates to learning platforms (e.g., Seesaw); Attend faculty/staff meetings, professional development sessions, parent-teacher conferences, and community events; and Other duties, as assigned by the Head of Lower School or the Head of School. Required Qualifications Include: Bachelor's degree in early childhood or elementary education; Experience working with early childhood students; Outstanding verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; Invites feedback and follows recommendations from lead teachers; The ability to multitask and quickly adapt to changing needs and group dynamics; Experience integrating technology into teaching practice to support learning and deepen projects (Google applications, MacBooks/iPads, Promethean Board, etc.); and A commitment to creating an inclusive classroom community and to working actively to introduce students to diverse cultures, experiences, and perspectives.
