About the Role

  • As an Elementary Assistant Teacher at Merryhill School, you will support a positive, engaging, and academically focused elementary classroom environment.
  • Working closely with lead teachers, you will help facilitate daily instruction, reinforce classroom routines, support student learning, and contribute to a warm and structured school community.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with elementary-aged students and is interested in growing their career in education.
  • You will also: Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development through positive interactions and classroom engagement Assist lead teachers with small-group instruction, classroom activities, projects, and daily routines Help reinforce classroom expectations, school procedures, and positive student behavior Collaborate with teachers and school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment Communicate professionally with students, families, and colleagues when needed Maintain an organized, safe, and engaging classroom space that supports student success What We’re Looking For Associate’s Degree or coursework in Education required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred Prior experience working with elementary-aged children in a school, childcare, camp, tutoring, or youth-focused setting Strong communication, organization, and classroom support skills Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team and follow lead teacher direction A patient, professional, and student-centered approach to supporting children Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment Must meet all state licensing and background clearance requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
