• August 14 – Mid-October 2026 Middle school is one of the most dynamic and rewarding places to teach - and at Moravian Academy's Swain Campus, we're looking for a Humanities teacher who knows that and wants in, even for a defined stretch of time. From August 14 through mid-October 2026, you'll teach multiple sections of ELA and History for students in grades 6–8, serve as a student advisor, and contribute fully to the life of our middle school community. You bring content knowledge in English Language Arts and Social Studies, a genuine feel for early adolescence, and the presence to build relationships that matter - quickly and authentically. At Moravian Academy, we believe middle school is not a holding pattern between elementary and upper school - it's a destination in itself. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in English, History, Education, or a closely related field; master's preferred Demonstrated experience and genuine enthusiasm for teaching middle school-aged students Strong understanding of adolescent development and middle school pedagogy Ability to engage and motivate students across the developmental spectrum of early adolescence Skill in building trust-based relationships quickly with students, families, and colleagues Background in an independent school or college-preparatory setting preferred Familiarity with Google Workspace for Education preferred Successful completion of required Pennsylvania background clearances (Act 34, Act 151, Act 114) prior to start of employment Ready to make the most of this window?
