About the role

Adjunct Faculty

Kentucky Wesleyan College, a private, liberal arts college with a long-standing reputation for quality and academic excellence, invites applications for an Adjunct Faculty to join our community. This is a part-time position with a contract-based teaching role that may be in-person or online, depending on the course and department needs.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned courses in designated academic disciplines (e.g., Economics, English & Writing, or other subject areas).
  • Deliver instruction in accordance with KWC’s academic standards and curriculum requirements.
  • Prepare and deliver engaging, student-focused lessons.
  • Assess student work and provide feedback.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and faculty development activities as needed.
  • Maintain a positive, collaborative relationship with students, colleagues, and the campus community.

Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in the subject area; doctoral degree preferred for certain roles (e.g., Economics adjunct requires at least 18 graduate hours in Economics).
  • Experience: Previous teaching experience at the college or online level is preferred but not always required.
  • Skills: Strong communication, subject matter expertise, and ability to adapt to diverse learning environments.
  • Other: Willingness to work flexible schedules; ability to meet course delivery requirements.
